Cill Rialaig

At a residency awarded at Cill Rialaig Artists Retreat in County Kerry Ireland, these paintings were created from found wood and a strip of boiled irish linen at the renovated famine cottage. The nails are from the vets at Kenmare and the handsaw bought at the local store.

The pigment dried by the warmth of the peat turf stove. If I looked out of my cliffside window over the crashing sea, I could watch the magnificent changing sky while listening to the howling wind. At night snow covered the tops of the Kerry mountains. It was November.
